A Few Helpful Guidelines
Make A Plan
Discuss your objectives. Keep the focus on prayer, yet leave room to share an occasional scripture or inspirational story for encouragement.
Decide Dates
Determine how often and when to meet. Gather calendars and coordinate dates at least twice a year, (i.e. at the beginning of each school semester).
Set a Time Frame
Visit for 15-30 minutes and then begin praying. Consider skipping the process of sharing lengthy prayer requests and pray for your needs directly. Some groups will desire an established length of time for each meeting.
Keep It Simple
This is not the time to hostess. Leave the cloth napkins in the drawer. Simply set out a tea bag or two, a pot of coffee and your favorite old mugs.
Create a Safe Place
Limit the number of members. This is not to be exclusive, but to cultivate trust. When you can be honest with your Prayer Sisters, you will pray more openly and see greater results.
Commit to Pray
Sometimes circumstances prevent you from all gathering together. As long as two people can meet, do it! Pray for everyone else and for what is going on in their busy lives.
