Simply put, prayer is a matter of obedience. God’s word clearly calls us to pray.   But maybe not everyone is called to pray for the same thing!  What is your prayer calling? Ask the Lord today to show you clearly who He wants you to be praying for! Of course we’re going to be praying for our husbands, our children, our families. And that is an awesome place to start!

But there are so many more things to pray for than that. Consider 1 Timothy 2. It clearly says, “Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.” God calls us to pray- because it makes a difference! For some reason, God has ordained that things happen in this universe because of prayer.

So who should you be praying for?  Who is God bringing into your path? Your neighbors, co-workers, strangers in the store? Ask God to open your eyes to the people He has put in your path and ask Him how to be praying for them. Pray for those in positions of authority over us. Pray for your community, your country, this world.
